Delete Your Account

Option 1 — Delete directly in the app

1. Open SwipeMapp and sign in to your account.
2. Go to your Profile.
3. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen.
5. Tap Delete Account and confirm when prompted.

Your account will be deleted immediately upon confirmation.

Option 2 — Request by email

Send a deletion request to privacy@swipemapp.com from the email address associated with your SwipeMapp account. Include your username in the message. We will process your request within 30 days.

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed or anonymised:

• Your profile — name, username, bio, and profile photo
• Your posts, reels, captions, and uploaded media
• Your comments and likes
• Your direct messages
• Your map pins and saved places
• Your follow relationships and pending follow requests
• Your account settings and preferences
• Your email address and login credentials

Certain data may be retained for a limited period after deletion for the following reasons:

• Legal and regulatory compliance — we may retain records where required by law (e.g. tax, fraud, or safety obligations), typically for up to 7 years.
• Safety and abuse prevention — reports you submitted or received, and related moderation records, may be kept to protect the platform and other users.
• Backup systems — deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being purged.
• Content shared by others — if another user saved, shared, or re-posted your content before your account was deleted, that copy may persist in their account.
• Anonymised data — aggregated or anonymised statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely.

• In-app deletions take effect immediately.
• Email-based requests are processed within 30 days of receipt.
• Backup purge completes within 90 days of the deletion date.
